Mt Fuji, a volcano in Japan Mountainous Land
Advantages or Disadvantages that Japan has based on its site:
Japan has abundant fish in waters off of Japan. Three-fourths of Japan's land is mountainous which is a disadvantage because there is not much land for farming. There are small amounts of oil and coal so they have to import most of it. What makes living in Japan a disadvantage is that there are many earthquakes, violent tidal waves that create tsunamis, and many active volcanoes.
Advantages based on Japan's situation:
Japan is completely surrounded by water, which means that can import and export easily, and makes it easier to trade with other countries. Japan has no boundaries to other countries. It is an island and is not landlocked.
